Dream, Desire and Delusion
The one common thing I notice in the meaning of the terms in the title Desire, Dreams, and Delusion is that you are not in the present, and all that is there is the present moment.
Desire, in some way, represents the instability in our state of being, similar to a dreaming state. Delusion is more like having an illusion, a short-term sensory stimulation of something in your mind, with the craving behind it being a driving factor. I’m not sure, think. Dreams, as I see, are a culmination of thoughts, dichotomies, and unfulfilled actions manifesting into a different reality. Is dreaming a disease? I feel so. It feels that way based on the previous sentence.
The other 'D' that just came to my mind is Dilemma. What could be more apt than the dilemma Arjun faces as he stands with Sri Krishna, who is his charioteer, between two armies eager to destroy each other. Should he fight in a battle that will lead to the destruction of his friends and family, or should he drop his bow and withdraw from the battle? What is the right thing for him to do? That inner conflict.
